Acreage: Most counties use guidelines in the 5–20 acre range, and typically add 1 more acre for a homestead.

History: Many counties look for 5 of the last 7 years of agricultural use history. If you don’t have history yet, you can still start building it now.

Intensity & management: You must show the land is actually being used for beekeeping at the county’s expected level (placement, inspections, maintenance).
